Master Of Science In Genomics And Bioinformatics

Program Director : Jack Vanderhoek, Ph.D.
Program Co-Director: Sidney W. Fu, M.D., Ph.D.
he degree in Genomics and Bioinformatics is designed to prepare the student in applied genomics from the perspective of bioinformatics. This program can be completed as a thesis or non-thesis degree. An explosion of biological information from research laboratories has raised a high demand for professionals who can translate such a large volume of information into useful knowledge sets of modules and eventually to phenotypic changes. The program at GWU was one of the first in the United States devoted exclusively to important genome-wide approaches to medicine and biology. The program prepares our graduates for advanced Ph.D. programs in biomedical sciences or a career industry. The degree is offered by the Colombian College of Arts and Sciences in cooperation with the School of Medicine and the Health Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
