Dr. Bohn received a B.S. in Zoology in 1973 and an M.S. in Physiology in 1975 from The Pennsylvania State University. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroanatomy in 1980 from Upstate Medical Center, State University of New York, in Syracuse, N.Y. Following 2 years of post-doctoral work with Dr. Paul Reier at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Bohn was appointed to the faculty of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. His research interests were in regeneration of the vertebrate central nervous system.

Currently, Dr. Bohn teaches anatomy, neuroanatomy and embryology in a number of courses for the medical school, the school of health sciences and for undergraduates at GW. He lectures in and teaches in the laboratory for Human Gross Anatomy (ANAT 210) for medical students (and has served as co-course director in the past); lectures in and is currently coordinator of the laboratory for the Neurobiology (IDIS 212) course for medical students (and has served as course director in the past); teaches in the laboratory in Functional Anatomy (PT 403) for the Physical Therapy program; teaches in and is course director for the anatomy portion of Functional Neuroanatomy and Electrodiagnostics (PT 405) for the Physical Therapy program; teaches the Neuroanatomy section of Anatomy for Health Sciences (ANAT 215) for the Physician Assistant’s program; and teaches in and is course director for Human Functional Neuroanatomy (ANAT 160) for undergraduates. Dr. Bohn was awarded the School of Medicine’s Distinguished Teacher Award in 1995 and has received eight Golden Apple Teaching Awards from the medical students.
