Sylvia Silver

Key Qualifications

Dr. Silver is the Associate Dean for Health Sciences and Professor of Pathology, Director of the Office of HIV Activities for the George Washington University Medical Center, the Principal Investigator for the NCI-funded East Coast AIDS and Cancer Specimen Resource and a Co-Investigator on the NIH-funded Women’s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS). She spent a sabbatical year in 2003-2004 developing a Professional Development Program to build capacity in clinical research that is a model being utilized in South Africa .

Dr. Silver holds a Doctor of Arts degree in Microbiology from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

 

Relevant Experience in Africa

Dr. Silver collaborates and has visited with individuals at the Universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosh.
