Key Qualifications
Dr. Jean Johnson PhD, FAAN is the Senior Associate Dean for Health Sciences at The George Washington University. She provides leadership to the Health Sciences Programs that include numerous different disciplines. She has served on many national committees and task forces including the Pew Health Professions Commission, the Institutes of Medicine’s Future of Primary Care and others. She was also the National Program Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Partnerships for Training Program that takes education to health professions students living in medically underserved areas. She has served as president of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and the American College of nurse practitioners. Her clinical practice has been in the care of the elderly.
As Senior Associate Dean for the Health Sciences Programs she has a deep commitment to providing leadership to the Health Sciences Programs. The set of programs that she works with are diverse and include both on-campus as well as online programs. She is committed to working with other countries and has worked with the United Arab Emerites, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.

Relevant Experience in Africa
Dr. Johnson worked with the University of Cape Town related to building clinical research capacity. Dr. Johnson will be working with Eritrea to establish an online nurse practitioner program.
