Step Four - Searching Specific Fields

You can search for particular authors, or words in an article title, or a journal name. For example to search for articles written by Dr. Peter Jay Hotez, click the author button and type the name hotez pj in the search box. Do not use commas or periods. Click search.

Author and journal searches will return an alphabetical list of names for you to choose from. You can move backwards and forwards in this list by clicking on the buttons on the right side of the screen. Click the box next to the author or journal name you want and click "Search for selected term". This example will return all articles that have hotez pj listed as an author. You can combine this search with other searches as shown in Step 3.

If you know the name of an article you want to read, click the "Find citation" tab, type the journal name, author name, and any other relevant information such as the year of publication, then click the Search button to retrieve the reference.
