Library Course Schedule

Policy

  1. All classes are open to GW Medical Center faculty, staff, and students, GW Hospital staff and MFA staff. There is a limit of three times that an individual can attend the same class.
  2. To register for classes, please call (202) 994-2850. Provide your name, telephone number and e-mail address. Class size is limited to 9 students per session.
  3. There is no charge for SMHS and SPHHS students, staff and faculty. MFA and GW Hospital staff are charged $50 per hour for standard software classes (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint).
  4. Payment for classes may be made by personal check, departmental check, or authorization on departmental letterhead (must contain departmental accounting number and supervisor signature).
  5. Call (202) 994-2850 if you have any questions.

Introduction to Blackboard
This session is intended to give you Blackboard user knowledge and skills. The key Blackboard elements that will be covered in this session include: Course menu, Assignments, Communications, Discussions, Tests, Gradebook.

RefWorks
RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and database manager that allows users to create a own personal database by importing references from online databases and facilitates bibliography creation. This program is useful when writing papers, collecting research bibliographic references and formatting the paper and the bibliography.
